Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 November 2026.

This policy explains how I collect, use and protect your personal information when you visit my website, get in touch, or work with me. I will only use your information in the ways set out below, and I never sell it.

Who I am

I am Julie Parker, a freelance PA, virtual assistant and home move support provider based in Brighton and Hove, East Sussex, trading as Parker Property & Life. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), I am the controller of the personal information described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or how I handle your information, please contact me:

What information I collect

When you contact me through the website form, by email, by phone or on social media, I collect the details you give me. On the contact form that is your first and last name, email address, and optionally your phone number, company or organisation, and your message.
When you become a client, I collect what I need to provide and invoice for my services. Depending on the work, this may include:

  • your name, address, phone number and email address

  • billing and payment details (I do not store card details)

  • details about your business, such as diaries, correspondence, invoices, suppliers and customer records you ask me to manage

  • details about your home and move, such as property addresses, utility and tenancy information, and the people and firms involved

Sensitive information

  • When I support older people and families with downsizing or moving, I may learn about health, mobility or care needs. I only record this where it is needed to provide safe and appropriate support, and only with the explicit consent of the person concerned (or someone legally authorised to act for them).

Information about other people

  • If you give me details of family members, tenants, customers or contractors, please make sure they are happy for you to share them. When you visit the website, my website platform (Wix) automatically collects some technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit. See the cookies section below.

How I use your information

The law requires me to have a lawful basis for each use of your information. These are mine:

  • Replying to your enquiry and giving you a quote: taking steps at your request before entering a contract

  • Providing the services we agree and managing our work together: performance of a contract

  • Invoicing, keeping accounts and meeting tax obligations: legal obligation

  • Handling health or care information during a move: your explicit consent

  • Keeping my website secure and working properly: legitimate interests

  • Occasionally following up on an enquiry or past work: legitimate interests (you can ask me to stop at any time)

I do not send marketing newsletters, and I do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

Business clients

  • When I manage your inbox, diary, customer records or other business data on your behalf, you remain the controller of that information and I process it only on your instructions. We can agree a short data processing agreement if you need one.

Who I share it with

I only share your information where it is needed to run my business or provide the services you have asked for:

  • Website and form hosting: Wix.com, which hosts this website and stores contact form submissions

  • Email, documents and storage: Microsoft 365

  • Accounting: my accountant and bookkeeping software, for invoicing and tax records

  • Removal firms, trades, cleaners and charities: only with your agreement, and only the details they need to do the job (such as an address and access arrangements)

  • HMRC, regulators or the police: only where the law requires it

These organisations are only allowed to use your information for the purpose I share it for. I never sell or rent your information to anyone.

How long I keep it

I keep your information only for as long as I need it:

  • Enquiries that don’t lead to work: 12 months from your last contact

  • Client records, contracts and invoices: 6 years after the end of the tax year in which our work ended, as HMRC requires

  • Health or care information: deleted when the move or project ends, unless you ask me to keep it

  • Business data I manage for clients: returned or deleted when our work ends, as you instruct

After these periods, I securely delete or destroy the information.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. This website runs on Wix, which uses:

  • Essential cookies to keep the site secure and working, for example to load pages correctly and protect the contact form from spam. These don’t need your consent.

  • Analytics cookies, only if you accept them, to show me how many people visit and which pages they view. This helps me improve the site. The information is grouped together and isn’t used to identify you.

When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time through that banner or your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working.
Wix publishes details of the cookies it uses in its own cookie policy.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • access the personal information I hold about you

  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete

  • delete your information, where I have no legal reason to keep it

  • restrict how I use your information

  • object to me using your information for legitimate interests

  • transfer your information to you or another organisation

  • withdraw consent at any time, where I rely on your consent

To use any of these rights, email julie@julie-parker.co.uk or call 07458 381910. There is no charge, and I will respond within one month. I may ask you to confirm your identity first.

Making a complaint

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please tell me first so I can try to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator:

  • Website

  • Helpline: 0303 123 1113

  • Post: Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF

Keeping your information safe

I use password-protected devices and accounts with two-factor authentication, and I only access client systems with the permissions you give me. Paper documents are kept securely and shredded when no longer needed. If a data breach ever put your information at risk, I would tell you and the ICO where the law requires it.

Transfers outside the UK

Some of the services I use, including Wix, may store or process information outside the UK. Where this happens, I make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK government adequacy regulations or the ICO’s approved data transfer agreements.

Children

My services are not aimed at children, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
